Robbin Cole will make a presentation on Rotary's Mental Health Action Team.   Learn how the Mental Health Action Team is working to make Rotary Clubs be a part of the solution of meeting the mental health needs in the communities they serve.  

Open Windows Books is a non-profit inspired by the metaphor of comparing children's books to windows and mirrors: mirrors of the child's own experience and windows into the lived experience of others in our multicultural and diverse world.  The primary goal of Open Windows Books is to provide educators in Minnesota schools with high quality children's literature that accurately portrays the daily lives of children from diverse cultural backgrounds.  In addition, we collaborate with local colleges and school districts to offer training to local educators on best strategies for classroom incorporation of the literature we provide.  

On reflecting for this presentation, I realized that most of my life's journeys and paths have come thru way of the black and white Holstein cow. From experiences and adventures in my youth, my pathway to Northfield to crossing the Atlantic the first time and having the opportunity to meet many people across the globe. It was the Youth Exchange program not the black and white road that brings me here today.

The two Valley Grove lutheran churches southeast of Northfield started in the late 1800's.  They have survived despite challenges to their ongoing existence, now preserved by the Valley Grove Preservation Society.  You will learn about its history and survival. 

I will be providing updates on the latest information on trafficking, HOPE Center's involvement and experience with responding to violence in our community and how you can help end violence against women. 

We live in a moment of heightened anxiety fueled by a host of factors.  Political division, harsh rhetoric, a lack of trust in institutions, international conflict and the recent activities of ICE in our state have left many of us overwhelmed.  Dan Dimick will reflect on steps we can take individually and collectively to build personal and community resilience and healing.
