Since March 2023, Sarawe Primary School and its community have benefited from a clean-water system made possible by Project Zawadi, Rotary Clubs, and supporters like Fred and Kaete Binter. This system serves not only the school but also the local clinic and village, thanks to community-driven networks. It has been life-changing for the community!
One resident described how access to clean water greatly improved health and daily life. The system operated smoothly for years until an October 2025 hailstorm destroyed its solar panels, abruptly cutting off clean water.
Project Zawadi quickly funded emergency repairs while Rotary Clubs arranged further support, restoring water within weeks. The community expressed deep gratitude for the rapid recovery, recognizing that clean water is vital to health and dignity. Saraweโs experience highlights the impact of partnership and local initiative, demonstrating resilience as water flows once more and life returns to normal.
