Check out the latest news on climate.
Climate in the news (click on titles to read the articles):
- Earth overshoot day urges sustainable living. We can all choose to do better.
- Trump's hand picked team of fringe scientists wrote a farce science report. Then they were disbanded as unneeded.
- Hotter oceans weaken our life support systems.
- Yale research shows Republicans are not connecting more violent weather disasters and rising insurance costs with climate change.
Climate education: Meat, especially beef, is a leading emissions source. We can all cut down. It matters.
Good climate news:
- California's solar experiment of covering irrigation canals with solar panels is working doubly well.
- Do individual actions matter? YES they do!
- China, the world's biggest emitter of CO2, is rapidly building out renewable energy in their own and other countries. While it is tragic America gave up the lead on this, it is very good that China is working hard on transition.
How we can all help preserve a livable world for future generations:
- While individual actions matter, it is even more important to try to achieve systemic change via our govts. For this reason, for the next 13 months, my top priority on climate is to campaign for, donate to, and vote for candidates at the state and federal levels, who acknowledge the climate crisis and pledge to take action. I encourage you to do the same. Use your choices, your voice and your vote like the future depends on it . . .because it does!
- Consider moving to a new bank if your existing bank makes big loans for more fossil fuel development. This does matter.
- As always, talk to friends and family about climate change.
