Check out the latest climate update from RCAT including climate in the news, climate education and good climate news.
Climate in the News
Climate Education: Sunlight travels 93 mil. miles to reach solar panels and produce electricity, still WAY more efficient than burning gas.
Good climate news:
- Rapidly charging batteries are coming! This plus longer range and lower prices will someday soon make EVs the obvious choice.
- New MN PCA report details changes to the MN climate. While it is not all good, it is WAY better than the future of many states.
- China is far ahead in battery development, but improvements and production. That's the good news. The bad news is the US is being left behind.
How we can all help preserve a livable world for our grandkids and all future generations:
- Remembering that every 1/10th of a degree of warming we can prevent, is worth the effort, everything we do, large and small, matters. But to achieve big systemic changes, we need our government to act. This summer and fall, please - for your grandkids and children everywhere - campaign for, donate to, and vote for candidates who acknowledge climate change and pledge to act on it.
- Talk to your friends and family about climate, and get them to do #1 :-)
- Work to reduce your family's impact, by reducing your carbon emissions: get an energy audit and do the updates, fly less, eat less red meat, get a heat pump when your A/C dies, get an EV as your next car, etc. These are the kinds of things we all need to do, if we want a livable world.
