Northfield Rotary Club Nominates Two Global Grant Fellowship Winners

A Carleton College Student and a St. Olaf College Student are awarded fellowships for 2026-2027

Chris Weber (Northfield Rotary Global Grant committee member), Aya Alawad ('26-'27 Global Grant Fellowship winner from St. Olaf College) and Trinity Hanif ('26-'27 Global Grant Fellowship winner from Carleton College), Brent Nystrom (Northfield Rotary Global Grant committee member), and Gary Campbell (past district governor from Anoka).

Northfield Rotary Club has again put forth winning nominees for Rotary's Global Grant Fellowship. This time two nominees were both awarded fellowships to study abroad for master's programs, bringing the total of 9 nominated students who have gone on to win this prestigious and generous fellowship of $35,000 each.

Aya Alawad, originally from Sudan, will graduate from St. Olaf College with the class of 2026. She will go on to pursue a Masters in International Economics in Geneva, Switzerland.

Trinity Hanif, originally from Oswego, Minnesota, will graduate from Carleton College with the class of 2026. She will be attending London School of Economics for a Masters in Gender, Peace, and Security.
