Check out the latest climate update from RCAT including climate in the news, climate education and good climate news.
Climate in the News:
- Global temp overshoot past +1.5 C threatens the future - this is the core issue
- The Trump administration is eroding critical scientific data that is needed by farmers, developers, insurers and citizens. The only winners seem to be fossil fuel executives, and that is only for the short term.
- Impacts of going from current +1.5C to +2.0C are devastating
Climate education: Global temp projections to 2040
Good climate news:
- 2025 report on EV charging is encouraging!
- China, the world's biggest CO2 emitter, is committed to electrifying its country mainly with renewables - leaving the US behind.
- Offshore wind energy proves its worth in recent storms, despite Trump war on wind
How we can all help preserve a livable world for future generations:
- Mantra for the next months: Nothing is more important between now and November elections, than to campaign for, donate to, and vote for candidates (of any party), who acknowledge climate science and pledge to take climate action.
- Call your representatives (esp. Republican ones) and ask them to protect climate science, laws and scientists, from thoughtless cuts. Mark your calendar to remind you to call monthly!
