Zach Pruitt, Director of the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative, received the 2012 Good Neighbor Award from the Rotary Club of Northfield during the club’s luncheon Thursday at Northfield Golf Club.

The award is presented annually to a non-Rotarian living within the school district whose actions reflect the club’s “service above self” philosophy.

Pruitt’s nomination cited his “passion for youth and families of the Northfield community.” Through his grant writing, Pruitt has secured approximately $4 million in program funding for the Northfield area.

Pruitt’s leadership at HCI contributed to the success of several local initiatives, including TORCH, PRIMEtime and Take it to the Box. He serves on the board of directors of multiple local organizations, including Community Action Center and The Key.

Pruitt has also mentored children for the past six years through the Connected Kids program.
