Becky Boling and Doug Green - Living Language: Why Poetry Now? Why Here?
Becky Boling is is the Stephen R. Lewis, Jr. Professor of Spanish and the Liberal Arts, Emerita, at Carleton College, where she taught from 1983 to 2019. Her poems appear on Northfield’s sidewalks. Her book Here Beyond Small Wonders is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
D.E. Green is Professor of English, Emeritus, and Senior Fellow at Augsburg University, where he was the 2007 recipient of the Distinguished Contributions to Teaching and Learning Award for Excellence in Teaching. His poetry has appeared in many literary venues and on Northfield’s sidewalks, as well as in Lake/Sky: An Homage to Mark Rothko, photographs by Peter Sorel, with poems by D. E. Green (2014). His first poetry collection, Jumping the Median, was published by Encircle in 2019; his new chapbook, Catastrophizing in Catastrophe, in 2023.
