Investing in the Community: The Economic Impact of Carleton and St. Olaf

Given the many challenges that higher education faces, it is an important time to better understand the financial and community impacts of Carleton and St. Olaf Colleges in our local area. Building on a statewide economic impact study of private colleges conducted by the Minnesota Private Colleges Council, Carleton and St. Olaf commissioned a separate, joint study to determine the economic impact of the two colleges in Northfield and Rice County. Mike Berthelsen, CFO and VP for Business and Finance at St. Olaf, and Eric Runestad, Vice President and Treasurer at Carleton, will share highlights of this study and discuss the overall impact of having the two colleges in Northfield.
