Last Week:

Love of outdoor activities brought Nicole and Robert Stai together, and after four years of marriage, they are now devoting their time and energy toward empowering others to share this love of the outdoors.

Eleven months ago Nicole and Robert opened a new store at 200 Division Street called The Gear ReSource, a retail and rental store that provides affordable new, used and consignment outdoor apparel and equipment. Gear ReSource rents snowshoes in the winter and kayaks and canoes in the summer. Their kayak and canoe rental service includes paddles, life jackets and shuttle service at reasonable rates to encourage all of us to explore the Cannon River. They also provide guided trips for groups of six or more.

Nicole, a Wisconsin native, has travelled extensively and lived for a time in Australia.  Robert, an Owatonna native, is well known by many in the Northfield area from his construction and handyman skills.

Check out their website at or better yet stop by their store to experience Nicole and Robert’s infectious enthusiasm for outdoor activity.

Alan and his wife, Debbie, have two children. Marty is a pilot, and Jenny works for Arrowhead Energy. Alan enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, camping, running and outdoor activities.  He recently added skydiving to his retirement accomplishments!
