Last Meeting:

David Halsor, Operations Director for the Cannon Valley Elder Collegium, gave a short classification talk reviewing his career path. David grew up in DeForest, WI, attended St. Olaf and after graduating spent three years in the Air Force learning to fly and enjoying training new pilots. In 1959 David joined Northwest Orient Airlines and spent 34 years and 27,000 hours piloting until mandatory retirement, many years as a Captain of DC10 flights. After raising a son and daughter, he and his wife Pat moved to Northfield in 1993 and since then he has been active at St. John’s Church and since 2002 in Rotary. David also enjoys sailing.

The Cannon Valley Elder Collegium has been David’s focus for several years and he effectively and efficiently handles all the registrations and administrative office work keeping over 500 active students happily enrolled in the three dozen courses that the CVEC offers during three, eight week sessions each year. Several other Rotarians are also active in the CVEC, both with educational administration and teaching. CVEC classes are fulfilling opportunities for those over age 55 to experience the joys of learning from outstanding teachers. Check out the courses as described on their website:
