Last Week:

District Governor Gary Campbell talked about how perspective, passion and innovation can help us all effectively participate in today’s Rotary organization.

We can expand our perspective of Rotary by involving ourselves to learn more about the organization, by attending District Conferences, visiting other clubs, and checking out the Rotary International website.  Gary appreciates the fact that all clubs are unique, each with a different focus and believes that we can learn much from checking out other clubs’ activities.

We can improve our passion about Rotary’s programs.  Gary complimented our club on our passion for having an excellent youth exchange program, one of the very best.  Our focus on Polio eradication also shows the positive passion of Rotarians.  As Gary reminded us, Rotary is not a spectator sport; its success is through member involvement and commitment to service.

We can witness the innovation and change embraced throughout the Rotary organization.  From a small business oriented organization in Chicago, Rotary now has well established clubs worldwide with far reaching programs and Rotary administers an amazingly powerful and effective International Foundation.

Gary Campbell is a southern Minnesota farm boy, a graduate of Pine Island schools and the University of Minnesota and is a Vietnam Veteran.  A corporate business consultant by vocation, Gary is also a musician, choir director, active in the Anoka Hennepin Education Foundation and a long time member of the Anoka Rotary Club.

Gary’s leadership as District Governor is much appreciated.

Last Week’s Guests: Our exchange students, Yoshino, Gunho, Rodolfo and Lucas, Gitta Reppmann, Stina Bartels and Mark Mohlke (Yogi), Kate Hubner (O’Neill), District First Lady Sandy Campbell, as well as Jenna Stowe and Elin Odegaard, both members of next spring’s Group Study Exchange to Sweden.

Scholarship Enhancement: Stina Bartels

Please welcome Mike Lane back as a full-fledged member.  Mike has rejoined our club after a brief absence.

Contact Mark Abbott if you would like to contribute to our Club’s donation targeted directly to Rotary clubs in the Philippines following the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.

A survey completed by about half of our members showed that 75% prefer the United Methodist Church as our meeting site and 25% prefer the Northfield Golf Club.  Soon you will have the opportunity to officially vote on your preference. Details will follow.  Please be patient as we work to improve the sound system.

The Annual Rotary Turkey Trot is just a week away.  If you have not already signed up to volunteer and wish to do so please contact Robert Bierman.
