Last Week:

Pat O’Neill introduced our exchange student Diatou Gueye who treated us to a fine presentation about herself.  Diatou is enjoying her year here in Northfield.  Her home is in Puget Sur Argens, a town along the Mediterranean in LaCote d’Azur near Cannes in southeastern France.  Diatou loves the climate near the ocean and loves spending as much time as possible on sandy beaches.

Diatou’s father El Hadj is Senegalese and Diatou’s mother Simone is French.  Diatou has two sisters, Lucie who is 24 and Mary who is 21.  With dual citizenship Diatou also enjoys spending time at her family’s house in Ngor near Dakar, the capitol of Senegal.  There she can also enjoy being on the beach and can spend time with her 30+ cousins and other relatives.  Diatou intends to enroll in college next year, perhaps in Canada.

Paul Harris Fellowship:

Congratulations to Gitta Reppmann for becoming our club’s latest Paul Harris Fellow.   Gitta and Yogi are both long-standing loyal Rotarians who continue to exemplify “Service Above Self”.

Ethical Moment:

Last week: Queen Jane reminded us that if someone tells an offensive joke in our presence we do indeed have the responsibly to say something about it.

This week: Is it OK to sneak a peak at your children’s’ e-mails.

Guests: Nalongue Cogan, Dawn O’Neill, Gitta Reppmann, Mary and Mike Mitchell, Jamie and Kevin Herman, and exchange students Rachael Dawson, Cindy Wang, Mickey Oeda and Adnan Mansjur.

Scholarship Enhancement: Alan Anderson
