Rotary Cogwheel: Thursday, September 22, 2011

Today’s Program:  How Do You LIVE UNITED? Betsy Spethmann (Braucher)

Happy Birthday: Jack Hoschouer 9/22, Don Robertson 9/25

Next Week:  “Some Things Happening at Carleton” President Steve Poskanzer (Covey)

Last Meeting:

Nancy Amerman grew up in Moorhead, MN, one of four children.  She married Jeff, an architect, in 1981. Nancy and Jeff spent time as cottage parents for disadvantaged kids in the Virgin Islands and in addition to making important contributions to kids’ lives, enjoyed learning how to scuba dive.

Nancy received her law degree from Hamline in 1983 and practiced in the Twin Cites and later in Northfield. Nancy and Jeff’s three children include Joe, a recent Luther College graduate, Ruth, a second year student at Knox College, and Rachael, an outbound Rotary student now in Quito, Ecuador.

Jeff and Nancy always enjoyed hiking and camping. Jeff died unexpectedly of an enlarged heart while cross country skiing in 2005. Nancy has since remarried and has inherited even more children. Nancy thanked the club for its contribution to the Amerman Pavilion at the soccer fields along Jefferson Parkway.

Through her infectious optimism and energy Nancy always adds so much to our club!
