Apparently, not all of Minnesota waters are sky blue.

Beth Kallestad, executive director of the Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP), her organization’s efforts to protect and improve the water quality of the rivers and streams that course a million-acre watershed touching on six different counties.

For the past 20 years, the CRWP has been involved in water monitoring, river cleanup, outreach and education and the initiation of conservation measures such as rain gardens to slow soil erosion.

Beth said point source pollution and agriculture runoff are ongoing issues. But she said she believes productive farms and good water quality are not mutually exclusive.

She is always looking for financial support of the partnership and volunteers to continue monitoring the water quality across the watershed. For more information contact Beth at staff@crwp.net.
