Last Week:

President-elect Rick Estenson has high hopes for our club going forward. But it all depends on our commitment to participation. That’s where the meaningful and lasting bonds are forged, he said. He invited members — no challenged us — to commit to at least one club social and one service project in the coming year. He also invited us to develop two significant Rotary projects for 2009-2010, one international and one local.

Rick went over some changes in club organization and committee structure. The membership committee has been elevated to cabinet level with the chair reporting directly to the president. Technology and Public Relations and Communications committee have been elevated to the director level. Rick Esse will serve as Technology director and Kurt Larson and Steve Wilmot will share the director title for PR and Communications. There are also leadership opportunities for Fellowship, Bike Tour and Local Service Projects. See Rick if you are interested.

Rick Esse and Ed Lufkin toured us through the revamped club website. They see it as a powerful tool and hope to exploit it to the club’s benefit. They invite your comments and suggestions.

Guests: Ann Lufkin (Lufkin), Susan Hill (Weber), Jerry McNertney (Lawlor) and our four inbound exchange students: Elisa, Ryota, Matheus and Pablo (Williams).

Scholarship Enhancement: Linda Willgohs

Our four exchange students, Elisa, Ryota, Matheus and Pablo are hosting a graduation open house from 6 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, June 4, at the Estenson Ranch. All are welcome.
